Eyeshadow, Raspberry Puree, and a Fanny Pack: The Summer between Films

News has been sparse to say the least.

More recently? Gatsby inspired a makeup line by Boots, the UK cosmetic line. The New York Daily News covers it here, but actual photos of the product are here, if anyone is in the market for eyeshadow between October and March.

Need to brush up on Gatsby film history before the movie hits? We have a link for that too courtesy of The San Diego Reader–although it’s not pro-Luhrmann by a long shot. Beyond this, everyone is stalling for time until the fall.

What about Django, you say? Well, Tarantino was at Comic Con with Django…okay, PART of Django, according to this site. Sadly, it seems Tarantino forgot to bring the clips with DiCaprio. Vanity Fair interviewed Jamie Foxx about the movie, and yes, he did remember to mention DiCaprio…but waxed more poetic about his horse, Cheetah.

I’m not joking. I wish I was. Did anyone attend Comic Con this year?

Because Leo did not. What was he doing? Eating out with Tobey Maguire at Cut, Las Vegas. People magazine states this included steak and a Raspberry Velvet cocktail with Grey Goose, which is made with raspberry puree and rosemary according the restaurant’s website. (Mr. DiCaprio, anytime you want to invite the staff here out for those, let us know; it’s been a warm summer.)

Other websites were less impressed with the details, sniffily commenting that Maguire is vegan and that DiCaprio’s manners may be in question when dining on steak in his friend’s presence. As it seems downright silly to insert ourselves into that fascinating little sidebar conversation of “hey, do you care if I eat what I want?” between two grown men who have known each other for years, we’re going to breeze past that. I’m guessing that if Mr. Maguire feels comfortable enough to let DiCaprio walk around town hand in hand with his toddler daughter, he’s probably already made peace with his friend’s life decisions.

In a further attempt to improve the world of journalism, Glamour magazine offered an opinion on Leo’s vacation fanny pack. Please bear in mind that the same page has a link to the hard hitting article, “The Dos and Don’ts of Frozen Yogurt.”

And sadly, that was the better article.

Have a great week everyone, and hopefully we’ve got more next week!

Small Update

There’s nothing new on Leo I have found but I am going back to see what I’ve missed and came upon this don’t know if any of you have seen it. You can see the video on the website. It was posted there and there’s no embed code.

Listed here were pictures from the NRDC Celebration for our Oceans Dinner, I found 1 mq pic and added it to the gallery but you can see more tagged photos here.

Anna has been adding new pics for us that I didnt have so thanks to her for adding all the recent pics on Titanic.

Leo, the Popsicle, and the Almost Update

Hello fans!

It’s been a while, but as I’m sure you’ve noticed…there has not been much news. DiCaprio has been biking. He ate a popsicle. It was red.

This is the great journalistic material we’re being given.

As Marcie pointed out below, there WAS a new Django still…but not a legal one, so it had to go. Suffice it to say, it involves a scowl and a pipe that most cartoon villains would find embarrassing. Also some creative lighting that calls to mind Jack Sparrow eyeliner.

Not interesting? Okay; we understand that since the Weinstein Company has requested we lose the photo.

Margot Robbie and Rob Reiner are rumored to be cast in Wolf of Wall Street.

No?

How about this article (from VH1, in this case) that suggests DiCaprio is a woman from the 1960s, probably started by the same person who thought Nicholas Cage was a vampire from the Civil War.

Other than that, someone ask Mr. DiCaprio to attend a charity gala or buy more art until the DiCaprio Smokes Old Timey Tobacco film series resumes in December.

Have a great week everyone; we will get busier around here soon! Stop by the gallery and leave a donation until then–perhaps Marcie can dig up some rare photos to amuse us.

You Have A Sudden Need For A Malibu Compound, You Say?

Not much news this weekend, fans.

Well, unless you have $150,000 laying around for a rental. In which case, this weekend could mark when you begin renting a certain Malibu beach house, according to The Miami Herald and its misleading photos of another villa.

Renting DiCaprio’s Piece of Malibu

The Miami Herald is a little slow though, since Us Magazine ran this news on May 22nd with the appropriate pics. How did the Herald miss that?

To correct the problem, here is what the “Cape Cod-inspired home” does look like. Either DiCaprio has a penchant for clustering his pristine furniture and filling the kitchen with granny smith apples, or this has been tastefully staged by the broker. How do you like them apples? $150,000 worth? Let us know if the giant fridge is filled with them too, and extra points if you keep track of how many times you hit your head on the weird pillar rising out of the breakfast bar.

But if you use the beachfront deck to start proclaiming yourself king of the world, we will disavow posting this link.

You’ve been warned.

Django Unchained:

On the Django front, Tarantino has launched a Django contest with Red Bull that could land you at Comic Con! Yahoo explains it here, but you can also do directly to the site here to learn more.

The Great Gatsby:

Nothing breaking, so content yourselves with brushing up on trivia about the novel itself from The Guardian.

Django (And Its Proper Pronunciation) Loosed

Okay, so it leaked early on the web (uh, thanks, Perez Hilton?), but ET has aired the Django teaser trailer so now we can post it here.

Free of the overlapping host, the youtube version:

Anyone wanting to watch it on ET proper can see it here:

After Cannes, Total Film Declares “DiCaprio Is Going Bad to the Bone” in Django

The trailer also promises that Facebook users who “like” the film will be rewarded with exclusive material, although none of it seems to be active yet.

The publicity race is on for the winter of DiCaprio films…are you rooting for Gatsby, Django, or both?

Changes

I am gonna be doing some clean up and changes to the site. I already removed some stuff I never used for this site. But I am working on it and when new things come up and I find it. I will post it.

Since most of the staff have disappeared except for Elli, Cristina, Diane and myself. We are the only ones currently working on it. I know there hasn’t been much added in the last year, but hopefully once Leo start promoting The Great Gatsby and Django Unchained we will have more content and this site will become active again. I apologize for my lack of stability to be able to post here every day like I use to but. I do hope this site will become like it use to.

If anyone is interested in helping or donating their time to help us with anything we would appreciate if you would contact us. We could use some fresh new talent and I look forward to anyone interested. You can contact me via email at mrs_mlucas@lucashq.com

I’m Back

Well its been a long year and now that we are starting off in 2012 Leo news has been really slow. I’ve been keeping up to date on things. So don’t think I totally abandoned this site cause I haven’t. J Edgar comes to DVD today (February 21) so don’t forget to buy your DVD or Blu-Ray on that. If anything new pops up I’ll be sure to keep you informed. 🙂

If you’d like to try and win a DVD go here: HDR J Edgar Contest
