Leo in Talks to Star in New Paul Thomas Anderson Movie

Jeff Sneider mentioned that he had a major scoop he was going to reveal later today and he didn’t disappoint.

Does it get better than Leonardo DiCaprio signing onto Paul Thomas Anderson’s next movie? Now, that’s a scoop. I’ll try to get more details from Sneider in the coming hour … For the time being nothing is official, but Sneider says it’s almost a done deal.

This is said to be the mysterious project that we reported on a few weeks ago. A new movie from PTA with no plot details nor a cast to its name. What we do know is that production will take place this summer in and around Los Angeles — PTA has shot most of his films and set them in California.

DiCaprio deciding to collaborate with PTA makes sense since all the actor has been doing for the last twenty years is make movies exclusively and only with A-list filmmakers.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese teaming with Hulu for The Devil In The White City series

It was in 2015 that we first reported on Martin Scorsese’s efforts to adapt Erik Larson’s The Devil In The White Citywith Leonardo DiCaprio in the role of serial killer H.H. Holmes. Now, that long-gestating project—it’s been in development since 2003; Tom Cruise and Kathryn Bigelow have both been attached at various points—has resurfaced, with Variety reportingthat Scorsese and DiCaprio are now developing it as a series at Hulu.

A story of innovation, architecture, and murder, The Devil In The White Citysets the cruel ingenuity of Holmes, who’s believed to have murdered more than 200 people in his “Murder Castle,” against the life of architect Daniel H. Burnham, who staged Chicago’s 1893 World’s Fair. It’s unclear at this point whether DiCaprio will still star in the project, or if Scorsese is still directing. Regardless, they’re both serving as executive producers in partnership with Paramount Television.

If it happens, the project would mark Leo and Marty’s sixth collaboration after Gangs Of New York, The Aviator, The Departed, Shutter Island, and The Wolf Of Wall Street. It would also be a huge score for Hulu, which is doing everything in its power to beef up its original streaming library in advance of Disney+ and the rest of the industry’s burgeoning streamers.

Leonardo DiCaprio Adds Steve Jobs Role To Pile Of Potential Movies

As first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Leonardo DiCaprio could play Steve Jobs for director Danny Boyle in Aaron Sorkin’s untitled movie about the Apple Computer co-founder. David Fincher was previously attached to direct the film, albeit in the loosest of terms, with rumors that he wanted Christian Bale to play Jobs.

Whether this ever happens with DiCaprio is, of course, up for great debate. Since saying in December of 2013 that he was ready to take a “long break” after filming “The Great Gatsby,” “Django Unchained” and “The Wolf of Wall Street” in succession, DiCaprio has found himself attached to no fewer five projects. In the last 13 months, he’s been associated with nine films. Ahead a brief rundown of DiCaprio’s ever-growing docket, as told by the Hollywood trades.

First Vacation, Then Go Do Your Banking

News?

We found some! It’s not an illusion, it’s not going to disappear if you rub your eyes too hard in disbelief–we have news!

First: flickandbits.com has the new Django cover of Premiere. Also some plot information we already possess, but hey. Hunting over the Premiere website does not held this little gem, but here you go.

Second, and currently, everywhere: DiCaprio and Rob Pattinson may or may not be going on vacation together. Just google it for how many blurbs there are to choose from, but this one has the prettiest photo. Also, the random information that Appian Way is producing a Ben Affleck movie, Runner Runner, confirmed by imdb.com. In case you’re bored, some sites are even speculating on what the two will discuss.

More interesting? Dicaprio and Jonah Hill in New York on Tuesday on a secret on a mission for Wolf of Wall Street: researching…banking. Cannot say I am jealous of that, but if it means Scorsese is getting ready to start work, I’m all for it. A likely story, you say. Here’s proof, I say. According to business insider.com, they’ve read the script. They produce highlights here–foul language warning.

As for Gatsby, the New York Daily News has this tidbit on Amitabh Bachchan. Bachchan stars as Wolfsheim, and discusses why he did the role gratis.

That’s all for now folks! Have a great weekend!

New Staff, More Gatsby

Hi everyone!

I’m a new volunteer at the site, and will be taking over some of the news/updating duties from Marcie.

A little bit about me, so we get to know each other: I’ve been a Leo fan since 1997–when I first saw What’s Eating Gilbert Grape. This was followed by a freakish amount of Growing Pains re-runs, but we won’t get into that. I’ve followed the site since 2006, and have made occasional donations because it continues to be the most professional fan site I’ve seen. (So donate, because it’s important that we keep it going!)

Now if we’re being realistic, one person cannot keep track of ALL the news. No matter how hard Marcie works, there will always be more news than would be feasible to update. She’s done a great job, and while I’m going to strive to keep that tradition, I can say that I’ll be able to spot every bit of news. I’ll need your help. If you see news from a credible source, please contact us so we can investigate. Feel free to put my name in the subject if you like, because we’ll be seeing a lot more info as publicity ramps up for The Great Gatsby and Django Unchained.

Just a reminder: no information about DiCaprio’s private relationships will be posted. Don’t send it, because we won’t use it; this is Marcie’s site policy and we ask that you respect that.

News for today: some older, some newer. Enjoy and debate below.

A western with Leonardo DiCaprio?

Now another project is gathering heat. “The Creed of Violence, a western-flavored script based on the 2010 novel from cult author Boston Teran, has attracted the attention of Leonardo DiCaprio, who’s eager to play one of the lead roles, according to a person who was briefed on the actor’s plans but could not talk about it publicly because he was not authorized to speak for DiCaprio. DiCaprio has been offered a lead part but has not decided whether he will accept it yet, a source said.

The movie has been in development with “In the Bedroom” director Todd Field for several years; like “Cowboys & Aliens,” the film is set up at Universal. A studio spokeswoman did not immediately have a comment on DiCaprio’s interest. A DiCaprio spokesman declined to comment.

“Creed” tells the 1910-era story of a criminal named Rawbone who tries to take a cache of weapons into Mexico as part of the country’s revolution but is caught and then accompanied by a government agent who, it turns out, shares a secret past with him.

DiCaprio could play either of the two characters, said the source. If he plays the government agent, it would continue a recent pattern of law-enforcement roles in movies ranging from “Shutter Island” to the upcoming historical biopic “Hoover.” If he plays the bad guy, it could mark the second time he’s going back to a harsh period of American history to do so: He looks to come aboard as the villain in Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained.”

Latest Updates – A Star is Born?

News has been slow on Leo, but lately I’ve been adding some of the news source I find on our facebook page. So if your looking for the latest go there. I did add scans thanks to Mag for the VIP scans. There’s not too much going on with Leo, its kinda been a weird year he’s usually a lot more active than this but will just wait and see.

Director Clint Eastwood is trying to persuade actor Leonardo DiCaprio to join singer Beyonce Knowles in the remake of “A Star Is Born”.

The “Inception” star is currently working with Clint Eastwood on the biopic “J. Edgar” but the Oscar winning director is hoping to persuade Dicaprio to appear opposite Beyonce in the movie which talks about an aspiring singer who falls for an older rock star, deadline.com reports.

Will Fetters wrote the script for the new Warner Brothers version of “A Star Is Born” while Bill Gerber, Jon Peters and Basil Iwanyk are set to produce the movie.

This will be the fourth remake of the movie, with Barbara Streisand and Kris Kristofferson starring in the most recent version in 1976, Judy Garland and James Mason played the lovers in 1954 while the original featured Janet Gaynor and Frederic March in 1937.
