Vegetarian Mark Ruffalo and Jane Goodall help Leo raise $7 Million for Wildlife Conservation

Environmental activist, actor, and conscious investor Leonardo DiCaprio recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of his eco-forward nonprofit, the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation.

Vegan primatologist Dr. Jane Goodall and animal rights activist and actor Mark Ruffalo joined the Academy Award-winning actor at the celebratory auction and gala, which raised over $7 million for climate change and biodiversity protection projects.

“Thank you to my friends @janegoodallinst and @markruffalo for coming to @leonardodicapriofdn’s 20th anniversary gala,” DiCaprio wrote on Instagram. “It is leaders like the both of you that help push for positive change for the planet.”

According to the nonprofit’s official website, the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation was founded in 1998 with the mission of helping to conserve the planet’s last remaining wild ecosystems.

The organization regularly takes steps to protect some of the world’s most vulnerable animals and natural habitats. Some of the foundation’s major milestones include donating $1 million to help restore endangered tiger populations and securing protection for threatened shark species, as well as other marine conservation initiatives. The foundation has also launched a grants program to support nonprofits that take on some of the planet’s most pressing issues.

Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio join Quentin Tarantino on set of his Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

Quentin Tarantino is one of the biggest directors in Hollywood.

So it’s no surprise he got not only Brad Pitt, but also Leonardo DiCaprio, to star in his latest flick Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

The dashing duo were both present on set in Los Angeles on Thursday. Brad, 54, kept things quite casual, opting for a plain black t-shirt, classic-cut jeans and chocolate brown shoes.

He accessorized with a leather belt and had apparently covered one of his arm tattoos with nude-colored tape.

Ai Weiwei, Celebs, and a Live Hawk: Leonardo DiCaprio Will Host a Zero-Waste Art Auction to Raise Money for Wildlife

One of the year’s most buzzed-about art auctions is set to kick off this weekend, but it isn’t hosted by Sotheby’s, Christies, or any other house. It’s the annual benefit auction for the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

The event, on September 15, has been scaled back from its four lavish previous iterations in St. Tropez, yet it’s nonetheless expected to be a star-studded affair. Hosted on a sustainable vineyard in California’s Sonoma County, the zero-waste evening will feature an art auction, celeb attendees like Edward Norton, Tobey Maguire, and a special performance by Coldplay singer Chris Martin. Oh, there will also be a live hawk flying around.

Brad Pitt just loves a bit of cherry Chapstick as he films new movie with Leonardo DiCaprio

Brad Pitt was seen getting ready for his close up, smoothing down his movie legend lips with a bit of lip-salve while sat in a retro 1960s car. Such a mood. The intensity of how he’s applying the stuff is a sight to behold, what could he possibly be thinking? Leo’s sat looking somewhat jealous he doesn’t have anything to soften his kissers. The 54-year-old is currently busy filming Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in LA, but that doesn’t mean he can’t take a moment to indulge in a little self care between takes, whipping out his Chapstick and giving his pout a once over.

Leonardo DiCaprio Apparently Saved Cargo Shorts From Extinction and Raised Over $100 Million to Save the Planet

The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation advocates for wildlife and environmental protection to help save animals and the planet, but apparently the organization’s namesake prevented something else from extinction all on his own.

That’s right: Leonardo DiCaprio salvaged cargo shorts for all of mankind, according to Coldplay singer Chris Martin.

The foundation just celebrated its twentieth anniversary and had a gala on Saturday night in Sonoma, Calif., which included a performance by Coldplay. Before Martin and his band began their set, the “Fix You” singer praised DiCaprio for his dedication to environmental and sartorial choices. Martin said, “I studied him very closely for about five or six years and what became clear to me was his unbelievable service, his commitment to the business of cargo shorts.”

He continued admiring the Inception actor’s devotion to this one item of clothing. “This is a guy, he’s seen cargo shorts and he said, ‘I’m going to save these shorts from extinction. They should have gone out about 25 years ago. I’m personally going to fund the sort of renaissances of cargo shorts,'” Martin added.

Perhaps DiCaprio really needed the extra pocket space.
