Martin Scorsese will team up with regular collaborators Leonard DiCaprio and Robert De Niro to make a short film also starring Brad Pitt.
Brett Ratner’s Ratpac Entertainment have been commissioned by Melco-Crown Entertainment to produce the short which will be used as part of a campaign for the global resorts and casino brand.
According to Deadline Scorsese’s short has been scripted by The Wolf of Wall Street writer and Boardwalk Empire creator Terrence Winter.
The film is due to be shown next year in China at the opening of Melco-Crown’s new movie-themed resort in Macau’s Studio City. It will be used to promote the company’s expansion in Asia and globally.
Plot details for the short are under wraps. It will be the first time Scorsese, Di Caprio, De Niro and Pitt have worked together on the same film. De Niro and DiCaprio first worked together on the coming of age tale This Boy’s Life in 1993. Scorsese made gambling themed thriller Casino in 1995 which also starred De Niro
Deadline suggest this could be the perfect warm up for the director’s long gestating Frank Sinatra movie
De Niro is currently filming The Intern with Anne Hathaway while DiCaprio’s next film The Revenant, directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, is in pre-production.
