J. Edgar Hoover Filming begins

Filming is officially underway for J. Edgar, the highly anticipated Clint Eastwood-directed film based on the life of J. Edgar Hoover.

The movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio as the legendary FBI director, while Armie Hammer will play Clyde Tolson, an associate and the rumored gay lover of Hoover. About his intimate on-screen relationship with DiCaprio, Hammer recently told E!, “It’s not a kissing scene—it’s a ton of kissing scenes,” he said. “I actually just met [Leo] for the first time at the DGA Awards. Sure, we talked business,” laughed Hammer. “He’s a talented actor. I’m not nervous or afraid of it being awkward. The script is great. The scenes are in there for a reason. I’m really excited.”

Josh Lucas and Ed Westwick also star, along with leading ladies Naomi Watts and Judi Dench.

The movie will shoot at various locations in L.A. over the next few months including 506 S Grand Ave where they will be filming interior and exteriors scenes on February 10th (7:00 A.M. – 7:00 P.M.).

Josh Lucas: Leonardo DiCaprio’s ‘J. Edgar’ Aviator!

Stealth apparently wasn’t enough to scare Josh Lucas off from playing aviators in movies.

Deadline reports that director Clint Eastwood has cast Lucas as aviation legend Charles Lindbergh in his new film J. Edgar, a biopic of the infamous FBI chief J. Edgar Hoover (to be played by Leonardo DiCaprio). The FBI investigated the kidnapping and murder of Lindbergh’s infant son in 1932. The Bureau also kept files on Lindbergh after citizens voiced their distrust of him due to his involvement with the Noninterventionist movement and the American First Committee prior to World War II.

Meanwhile, Josh Lucas is also in contention for the title role in Fox’s Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.
