Chapter 22
Rose chose the last option; she wouldn’t leave her daughter for nothing in this world. She settled to have lunch with Jack on the day she would be moving to Cal’s house, to tell him what she had decided.
“How are you doing?” Jack asked
“I’m going on…how god wants…” Rose said
“Alicia is back…she is really pregnant…”
“That’s good…I have something to tell you too…I am going to live with Cal…”
“What? Are you kidding me?”
“No…I’ve never been more serious…”
“But you…I can’t believe…is this what you really want?”
“No…of course I don’t want this…but…if I don’t do this he will take my daughter away…and I can’t let her go…I am her mother and she needs me…I’m the only person she can count in this world…”
“I admire you so much Rose…all your strength and courage…is just amazing…”
“Thanks…and I think you should do the same…go on with your life…now that you have a child coming…”
“If only we could turn back time…”
“But we can’t…so if we don’t have what we want, we have to learn to love what we have…”
