Chapter one

At first sight

It was the day before school starts. Rose Bukater, a 17 year old girl was, like many others, new in the Santa Monica High school. She was in the club pool, a place reserved for the students of that school, with her boyfriend, Philippe Hockley, and her best friend Livia and her boyfriend Fabrizio.

The boys were swimming in the pool and the girls were sitted on the pool border. Rose had her legs in the water. She and Livia were talking about several things, when a group of three persons, two boys and a girl come there. One of the guys went near them with some papers in his hand.

“Two girls with good taste. Come and see me and my band today at night. We’ll be in the park in front of the school.” He said smiling.

“Thanks!” Rose said smiling at him too.

“Well, well, well, if the rest of the guys in the band is like him, or even better, if the rest of the school is like him, this year will be interesting..” Livia said with an evil smile in her face.

“Come on Livia! Shut up! Your boyfriend is there and mines too!” Rose said laughing.

“So I guess we already have something to do at night…….I must go to this concert and you too” Livia said.

“Yes we’ll go….” Rose said while she was jumping into the water.

Later at night, they were walking to the concert. Philippe and Fabrizio went to buy something to eat and Rose and Livia were walking and laughing when they saw that boy again, Jack Dawson. He was in a corner of the street with a girl, Daphne Reynolds, the female in the band. They were kissing so Livia and Rose imagined that she was his girlfriend.

“Good night….” Livia said when they passed by them.

Jack and Daphne stopped kissing and looked at them. Jack recognized them both from earlier, but he was more interested in looking at Rose than Livia.

“Good night……I’m Jack Dawson, the leader of the band and this is Daphne Reynolds, the only female on it.

Rose and Livia were expecting him to introduce her as his girlfriend, but he didn’t.
