It’s probably easier to list the stars who weren’t in attendance at Giorgio Armani’s One Night Only celebration in Manhattan last night as Leonardo DiCaprio, Naomi Watts, Hilary Swank, Renée Zellweger, Glenn Close and Lauren Hutton celebrated the Italian designer.

As the mayor of New York Michael Bloomberg proclaimed October 24 as ‘Giorgio Armani Day’ in recognition of the designer’s longstanding relationship with the city, the SuperPier venue in the city’s Meatpacking District was made over to host a catwalk show and party.

An 87-metre-long catwalk was created to showcase highlights from all of Armani’s Privé collections (his Haute Couture line) since 2005, to a 700-strong crowd. Guests then enjoyed an ‘exclusive cocktail dînatoire party’ with a DJ set by Mark Ronson.
