A message to New Jersey students from Leo

Since New Jersey became the first state in the nation to incorporate climate change education across its K-12 learning standards, Leonardo showed his support for this action:

Hello. This is Leonardo DiCaprio. And I just want to say that last month, New Jersey became the first state in the United States to incorporate climate change across K-12 education standards. Congratulations!

Students are now gonna learn about climate change in every subject area. Climate change puts our water and our air at risk. It disrupts our livelihoods and impacts our health. No matter who you are or where you live, the climate crisis will change the way you live.

Thank you to New Jersey First Lady Tammy Murphy for her leadership and vision.

To all you students in New Jersey, we are counting on all of you to be the climate leaders of this generation. And to the students in the rest of our 49 states, contact your representatives and make your voices heard. New Jersey was the first, what state is gonna be next? well that’s up to you. Thank you for your time.
