Leonardo DiCaprio eyed for Batman villain movie

Entertainment company Warner Brothers is reportedly trying to bring Oscar-winner Leonardo DiCaprio into the upcoming Joker origin movie.

The studio is eyeing DiCaprio to play The Joker in the movie that will explore the origin story of the Batman supervillain.

The Warner Brothers are allegedly trying to convince Martin Scorsese to get ‘The Revenant’ actor on board. However, no offer has been made to the ‘Django Unchained’ star since Scorsese’s deal to produce the project has not been finalised.

Scorsese and DiCaprio are frequent collaborators. They teamed up in ‘The Aviator’, ‘Gangs of New York’, ‘The Departed’, ‘Shutter Island’ and ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’.

Actor Jared Leto, who originally plays the Clown Prince of Crime in the DC Extended Universe movie franchise has reportedly heard of the rumors and he was not happy.

Todd Phillips and Scott Silver are hired to write the treatment for the DC criminal mastermind notorious for his face paint and permanent smile. Other details are still scarce. Rumor has it, the movie could revolve around a young bullied version of the infamous character.

According to online theories, the story might continue with another movie that will delve into the mad love between the psychopathic clown and his former psychiatrist Harley Quinn that ends up with their breakup.
The untitled Joker and Harley Quinn project is speculated to pave a way for Harley Quinn’s solo outing with Gotham City sirens. Margot Robbie plays the pigtailed anti-hero and her relationship with ‘The Joker’ has already been glimpsed in the 2016 hit ‘Suicide Squad’.

How You Can Be a Third Wheel at a Romantic Dinner With Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet

As Titanic turns 20, Jack and Rose are reuniting for a good cause – this time on dry land.

A private dinner with Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet is up for grabs at this year’s auction gala hosted by the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation.

The annual event, hosted on July 26 in St. Tropez, France, is offering a lucky bidder the chance to have dinner with the friends and former Titanic costars sometime in October or November at a place of their choosing in New York City.

Proceeds from the gala and auction will support the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, which since 2008 has made more than $80 million in grants to environmental causes.

DiCaprio and Winslet’s dinner will also benefit a GoFundMe campaign Winslet has been involved with that aims to help a young mother in the U.K. pay for cancer treatment. Winslet cofounded the Golden Hat Foundation, which benefits children with autism and their families, and also supports regional charities in the U.K. and individuals’ fundraising efforts for cancer treatment.

The typically star-studded event will feature a special performance by Lenny Kravitz. In addition, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo will be honored with the foundation’s “New World Leadership Award” for her “innovative approach to making Paris a model for sustainable urban living and design,” according to a statement from the gala.

Last year, the charity auction raised a record $45 million and featured guests such as Bono, Chris Rock, Mariah Carey, Tobey Maguire, Jonah Hill, Naomi Campbell, Bradley Cooper and Edward Norton.

Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio Have Two Murder Thrillers in Development

The filmmaker is set to begin production on his gangster movie return “The Irishman” next month, which will reunite him with “Goodfellas” duo Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci. But Scorsese isn’t stopping there, as he’s got two different Leonardo DiCaprio vehicles in development for after. Scorsese and DiCaprio haven’t worked with each other since “The Wolf of Wall Street” four years ago.

The first project is an adaptation of Erik Larson’s book “The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America.” DiCaprio purchased the film rights to the book in 2010 and Scorsese has gone on record praising the script.

“Right now, there is a script being worked on,” Scorsese told the Toronto Sun about “The Devil in the White City” last December. “One of the things that I had to stop for the past six months [to complete ‘Silence’] was my meetings on that script. They want me to start again in January and see if we can find a way because it’s an extraordinary story.”

According to Variety, Scorsese is readying an adaptation of the true-crime thriller “Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI” for hist next movie after “The Irishman.” Scorsese’s longtime production designer Dante Ferretti reveled Scorsese hopes to start shooting the movie in the spring of next year. “Flower Moon” is based on the bestselling book by “The Lost City of Z” author David Grann and has a screenplay written by Eric Roth (“Forrest Gump”).

Scorsese and DiCaprio have reportedly been eyeing the project for months and are working with Imperative Entertainment to get the ball rolling on production. It would appear that either the “The Devil in the White City” script is unfinished or logistical reasons behind Scorsese’s shooting schedule is why “Flower Moon” is taking precedence over “White City.” The latter looks to be on the shelf for now, at least as far as Scorsese and DiCaprio’s involvement are concerned.
