PROUD

Dear Leo,

There are truly no words to describe this feeling. I am so proud of you! I knew you would do it and you did. You have overcome a lot of things in your life. Stand up proud because the world is at your feet today.

Since I met you you have been my only inspiration. You had a dream and wanted something and then you did everything you had to do without sacrificing your integrity or other areas of your life you made your dream come true; you have became the world’s most successful actor and as United Nations Messenger of Peace you have devoted all your time and effort to become the most interesting man ever. It’s just that you still manage to amaze me. Just when I think I have you all figured out and seen everything that can possibly ever be seen from you, wham, you do something even more incredible and just make me realize how fortunate I am.

You are most likely going to continue to amaze me through the years and I love that about you. I never know what to expect. I will continue to be right here by your side through everything giving you all the love and support I possibly can. I want you to always know that you are loved. No question about it. No matter how hard your life can be at times, your real fans have your back one hundred percent. Don’t listen to people who shouldn’t be listened to.

I love you Leo, from now until eternity and every second in between. You were perfect from the start. I can only hope I am one tenth of as perfect as you are. I am so proud of you and so proud to be the one writing this letter to encourage you to go for more in life. With every achievement I’ll be there in the stands cheering you on. I love you darling, that is all I know how to do, just love you.

Love,
Natalia Airoldi

Leonardo DiCaprio pledges $20 million grant to combat climate change

The Revenant star announced his foundation will be donating a $20 million grant to help combat climate change Tuesday evening during a speech at Yale University. He also reserved some harsh words for President Donald Trump and his administration’s position on climate change.

“We are proud to support the work of over 100 organizations at home and abroad,” the actor said. “These grantees are active on the ground, protecting our oceans, forests and endangered species for future generations – and tackling the urgent, existential challenges of climate change.”

“There exist today many proven technologies in renewable energy, clean transportation, and sustainable agriculture, that we can begin to build a brighter future for all of us,” DiCaprio added. “Our challenge is to find new ways to power our lives, employ millions of people and turn every individual into an advocate for clean air and drinkable water. We must demand that politicians accept climate science and make bold commitments before it is too late.”

Hurricanes show US harming itself by ignoring climate change

Oscar award winner Leonardo DiCaprio said Tuesday that the recent spate of hurricanes is proof that the U.S. is harming itself by not taking climate change seriously.

The facts have been presented “time and time again, year after year, for decades” and “quite simply, we are knowingly doing this to ourselves, to our entire planet, and we’re risking our very future,” DiCaprio said in giving the closing address at the Yale Climate Conference hosted by former Secretary of State John Kerry.

He said Florida Gov. Rick Scott banned the use of the words “climate change” from state documents, but “unfortunately no governor is powerful enough to ban climate change, and today residents of his state are rebuilding from devastation that could’ve been significantly less if the state government was busy working for solutions rather than banning words.” He said the same is true for former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, now Trump’s energy secretary, who ignored climate change to see his state suffer from intense flooding.

Leonardo DiCaprio is the latest celebrity to pledge monetary assistance to the Texas victims of Hurricane Harvey.

The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation has pledged $1 million as the inaugural donation to the newly established United Way Harvey Recovery Fund. United Way Worldwide, the largest privately funded non-profit, said Wednesday that all proceeds of the Harvey Recovery Fund would go directly to recovery efforts.
