A Jersey Shore Cast Meal
From their outrageous hair and fashion to their hookups and heartaches, Jersey Shore‘s seven roommates have become overnight sensations since their debut last month. “We already know we’re a big deal, but we didn’t think it was going to be this big of a deal!” says Nicole, a.k.a. “Snooki” with an attitude. Her exploits on the boardwalk with her pals have turned into the top-rated show on MTV, and even has them getting recognized by Hollywood celebrities! “There was one that got me – Leonardo DiCaprio!” Jenni “J-Woww” adds. “He came up to us so that was very unreal!”
They may be just as recognizable for their nicknames, so Rachael asks the gang if she can join the fun. “I wish I was the kind of person that people gave nicknames to, but I just never got one in life. Does anyone want to give me one?” she asks.
“What do you think about ‘The Appetizer?’” suggests Mike, “The Situation.”
“I like that,” says Rach. “Thank you ‘Situation!’”
But what everyone really wants to know is how “Snooki” got her nickname. “I’m finally going to say what ‘Snooki’ means!” she announces. “It was like 8th grade and I was the first girl of my girlfriends to make out with a guy. So you know Save the Last Dance? Snooki? … He’s the DJ. Anyway, my girls started calling me ‘Snooki’ so it just stuck ever since!”
To help the gang celebrate tonight’s Jersey Shore season finale, Rachael cooks a special Italian meal – Hot Sausage, Pepper and Onion Ragu with Rigatoni and Provolone Besciamella. “You are welcome to stay and have some!”
Leo, Tobey and Ellen Sign On for Haiti Telethon
The list keeps growing and growing and…
While plans are changing minute by minute second by second, we’re hearing Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Affleck, Ellen DeGeneres, Jason Bateman, Ashley Tisdale and Tobey Maguire are some of latest celebs to sign on for Friday’s Hope for Haiti telethon, which will be broadcast on E! and E! Online…
Not only will Taylor Swift perform in L.A., but she’s also going to answer calls for the phone bank.
The Obamas may also pitch in with a pretaped message, according to sources.
Avatar star Zoe Saldana will be a part of the telethon, but she tells us that she’s also working with Avon—she’s the beauty company’s newest celeb face—in helping raise disaster relief funds, which already includes $500,000 to the American Red Cross and Doctor’s Without Borders.
Maggie Gyllenhaal told us at the recent BAFTA/LA Tea Party that she immediately called folks at Partners in Health, an organization that she became involved with a few a months ago, when she learned about the earthquake.
“They sent me an email telling me about all the things they are doing on the ground,” the Crazy Heart star said. “But they also said, ‘What we need right now is financial support—please spread the word!’”
Leonardo DiCaprio Gives $1M To Haiti, Madonna & Beyonce Join Telethon
NEW YORK — Beyonce and Madonna have been added as performers to Friday’s multi-network “Hope for Haiti Now” telethon, and Denzel Washington, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and former President Bill Clinton are among the participants.
A statement released Thursday said Beyonce would perform from London, and Madonna from New York City. The list of musical performers already includes such heavyweights as Bruce Springsteen, Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake and Keith Urban.
“It’s a big world out there, and we all have a lot of responsibility to look out for people who can’t look out for themselves,” telethon organizer George Clooney said in an MTV interview that aired Thursday night. “So what we can do is first and foremost, raise money. Period. That’s it …
“If I thought we could all pick up shovels and go in there and help without being in the way, I think a lot of people would do that.”
An estimated 200,000 people were killed after a powerful earthquake struck Haiti last week, devastating the nation.
The two-hour telethon will be shown on all the major networks and a host of other channels. It will be broadcast from New York, London, Los Angeles and Haiti.
People can begin donating even before the start of the 8 p.m. EST concert via phone and text. Viewers can also download musical performances from the show via iTunes for 99 cents. Those profits will also be donated to Haiti relief.
Also Thursday, DiCaprio announced he was donating $1 million to the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund, the relief effort led by former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush and one of the organizations benefiting from the telethon.

Leonardo DiCaprio And Director Marc Forster Attached To ‘The Chancellor Manuscript’
While we’re not likely to see James Bond and Jason Bourne throw down against each other on the big screen anytime soon, we’re getting something that’s kind of close — a collaboration between “Bond” director and “Bourne” author in “The Chancellor Manuscript.”
According to Variety, “Quantum of Solace” director Marc Forster is attached to direct “The Chancellor Manuscript,” based on the novel by the late “Bourne” mastermind Robert Ludlum, with Leonardo DiCaprio attached to star. Peter O’Brien will write the script based on Ludlum’s political thriller.
DiCaprio would presumably play Peter Chancellor, the author of a novel about lawmakers being blackmailed into changing United States policies. In a stranger than fiction twist, it turns out that this scheme is very real, setting the conspirators on the loose to track down the novelist and silence him for good.
After the success of the “Bourne” trilogy, it’s no wonder that studios are angling to get more of Ludlum’s work into theaters. Paramount reportedly spent $4 million in 2005 to ascertain the film rights for “Chancellor,” which seems like a hefty investment given the franchise’s lack of mainstream recognition.
But you know that this movie is going to get plastered with slogans evoking Ludlum’s “Bourne” work and Foster’s “Quantum of Solace” gig, which combines with DiCaprio’s name for a pretty impressive list of ingredients. Whether the movie itself is any good is another story, but assuming that all remains intact going into opening weekend, this could be a fairly lucrative project.
